The Coffee Trail
This tour will let you discover the beauty of nature and landscapes of Nicaragua's central region as well as the interesting process of the coffee culture and roasting.
Day 1: Estelí - Ocotal
Starting from Estelí, we will cool off at Estanzuela's waterfalls. Thereafter, we will drive to Ocotal to visit the coffee hacienda San Isidro which offers a beautiful panoramic view as it is located in one of the highest region in Nicaragua. We will end our day with a visit at the ethnic village Monzonte known for its picturesque pottery industry. Back to Estelí for the night.
Day 2: Somoto's Canyon - Matagalpa
After breakfast, we will drive to Somoto to visit the famous Cañón de Somoto and its sinkholes of 200 meters. Later, we will go to one of the most important cities in the north of the country: Matagalpa, then to Selva Negra, located in a coffee plantation, where our guests will tell the history of coffee in Nicaragua.
Day 3: Matagalpa - Managua
In the morning we will visit the last coffee plantation located in Harmonia, then we will return to Managua.
Flor de Caña rum Factory
Visit this impressive distillery where you know about its history as well as all processes and manufacturing steps of the famous rum. Considered the best rum in Central America and one of the world's best, Flor de Caña has won 72 international awards. It was born 100 years ago and was developed by peasants who were making it to celebrate the end of the harvest of sugarcane. The factory is located in the rich volcanic fertile soil of Chichigalpa, where hundreds of acres are cultivated with sugar cane to produce this rum with unique smoothness and flavor.
